We're looking for passionate members ready to lead, serve, and make an impact.

Eligibility Requirements

To be considered for a board position, you must be an active ICF member in good standing, as defined by the ICF Member Eligibility Requirements. Candidates are nominated by the Nominating Committee or by petition, and elected by a quorum of qualified members.

Key Dates to Remember

  • March 31 — Nomination deadline

  • April 30 — Nomination slate shared with current ICF Calgary members

  • April 30 – May 15 — Proxy vote by email. This is an important step that requires all current members to participate!

  • June 4 — Final vote at the Annual General Meeting

  • July 1 — New Board term begins

Board Member Responsibilities

  • Two-year term, with the possibility of renewal

  • Board of Directors are voted in by the membership at the Annual Member Meeting for a two year term

  • Willingness to contribute an average of 10+ hours per month to a working Board

  • Willingness to lead a volunteer committee and/or ad hoc advisory group

  • Support awareness of ICF Global Vision, Mission, Values and Strategic Plan initiatives

  • Complete ICF Volunteer Leader Training within 3 months of appointment as Board member

  • Sign Chapter Leader Agreement

  • Attend monthly board meetings and chapter events

    Each Board of Director role works across the organization in order to ensure the board is highly effective in carrying out its essential duties and governance responsibilities and is able to attract and develop the highest caliber candidates to serve as trustees.
