Holiday Network Gathering - Toast with the President.

 

ICF Calgary is inviting you to join us at our first annual Toast with the President. We are gathering as a community to reflect on 2020, share stories and have some fun together!

Ed Temple, ICF Calgary President is hosting the event to kick off the holiday season. The event will include:

  • A reflection on a year of change & challenges,
  • Receipt of the charitable donation to Cause by Wendy Fuhr (Executive Director, Cause Canada)
  • Guest Interview with Rod Miller (CPHR President)
  • A special Performance by Magician and Illusionist, Derek Selinger
  • An opportunity to connect & network in small breakout rooms

While this is a free event we are asking for you to consider a $10 or $20 donation. All proceeds will be going to Cause Canada.

We can all agree, 2020 has been filled with challenges! We have much to celebrate and we are excited to provide an opportunity for our community of coaches to have fun, to be inspired and to connect with other coaches to finish the year well! Join us for a fun virtual event to toast each other and celebrate the holidays! Here is what you can expect:

Entertainment: Derek Selinger was recently featured on Penn and Teller’s: Fool Us. Derek is a Calgarian who has adjusted his approach to entertainment and inspiration to this virtual world with a 100,000 Tik Tok followers and a new You Tube channel.
Inspiration: Rod Miller, CPHR President/CEO, was faced with the Dilma of cancelling the annual CPHR face to face conference for 6000 members or adjust to a virtual event. Come and hear the leadership lessons acquired while thriving through change.
Connecting: We are providing an opportunity for you to connect with other coaches to share what you are celebrating in 2020 and what you are hopeful for in 2021.
Charitable Cause: All proceeds of this event will go to Cause Canada. Cause has been on the front lines of responding to Ebola and COVID

Meet Your Hosts:

Ed Temple, ICF Calgary President
Ed is an Executive Coach who brings focus on developing leaders and teams for greater results. With a strong emphasis on strength based coaching Ed helps leaders see what is possible amid high demands and challenging environments. Expanding leadership capacity, entrepreneurial creativity and strategic thinking is what Ed aims to help clients attain goals and enhanced effectiveness.

Ed is a Lead Facilitator for the ExceleratorTM Coach model, a 5-time Prism Award winning program and facilitator for Strength Deployment Inventory (TotalSDITM) which focuses on relationship awareness theory. Ed is a fierce servant, expressed through serving on multiple charitable boards and overseeing a microfinance project partnership between Rotary and Opportunity International raising over $2.3 million for the entrepreneurial poor in Honduras.

Ed is also a social innovator best exemplified in the successful launch of SEEDS (Social Enterprise ExceleratorTM Development System) program in Alberta to help train over 300 charitable leaders with coaching skills in Alberta.Ed resides in NW Calgary, is married to Hannah with three young kids (Elijah, Madalyn & Evangeline) and keeps happily busy with the kids in volleyball. Ed enjoys being a foodie with Hannah expressed first at home with a zeal for hospitality.

 

Derek Selinger, Speaker, Illusionist, Magician
Derek Selinger is a master magician, performing on stage and screen, including most recently on Penn & Teller’s “Fool Us”. A winner of six international awards, including the People’s Choice Award from the International Brotherhood of Magicians, Derek has wowed audiences all over the world. He has entertained millions on major television networks including the C.W. Network, Discovery network, Fox News, CTV and Global, and has performed on some of the world’s most beautiful stages from New York City and Las Vegas to Malaysia and Paris.

He is a multifaceted storyteller, performing for corporate audiences, speaking to youth, and even writing theatrical productions from the ground up.Through 20 plus years of experience in the entertainment industry, Derek’s skills have been finely honed, and he has the unique ability to perform everything from large-scale illusions and epic routines to more intimate close-up and pure sleight of hand.

Derek utilizes all of this experience as a corporate speaker, and communicates to audiences about dreams, risk and perseverance. Being a master story-teller, he has been praised as insightful and engaging, and has a unique ability in being able to not only wildly entertain his audiences but also inspire them to embrace life and to live brighter. Rod is the President/CEO of CPHR Alberta which represents over 6000 human resource professionals practicing human resources in the province of Alberta and the Northwest Territories. Rod is passionate about people potential and building great cultures at work that are inclusive where everyone thrives. Over the course of his career Rod has built high performance teams built on a foundation of trust.

Rod led the launch of innovative pharmaceutical and biotech products into Canada, coached sales organizations to go beyond the ordinary, and developed human capital projects across the globe building skilled local communities. Rod has been fortunate to travel to over 40 countries across Asia, Africa, Europe, North America, South America, and Australia giving him a global perspective on the changing world of work.

As an engaging leader Rod works with organizations to ignite passion and align purpose in their greatest asset - people. As a Certified Leadership Coach (Essential Impact) Rod works with individuals helping them reach their highest potential while staying true to their values. Rod holds undergraduate degrees in zoology and economics, along with an MBA in leadership and strategy. Wendy Fuhr, Executive Director, Cause Canada

Wendy Fehr is the Executive Director at CAUSE Canada. Wendy grew up in Alberta and studied English and Women’s Studies as an undergraduate and later received her Master of Arts in International Development with a focus on women in development.

Wendy’s career has focused on issues related to human rights, and to forced and economic migration at the local and international levels. Her experience includes working in research and policy on education and gender-based violence with the United Nations High Commission for Refugees and High Commission for Human Rights. She is also experienced in non-profit leadership having worked in director positions with the Immigrant Sector Council of Calgary and the Human Security Report Project.
