Behind the Curtain: Coaching Secrets from Those Who Know (Part 3)

If you are a fairly new coach, you will want to join the third in our series of panel discussions with very experienced coaches to hear their stories of challenges and successes and what they have learned about Professional Development and Useful Coaching Tools.

Experienced coaches will discuss some of their best professional development programs and certifications, why they chose them, and how they are used in their coaching practice.  Get the inside scoop on programs such as Daring Way/Dare to Lead, Leadership Circle 360, EQi, EQ360 and more! Hear what factors played into their decisions and how they use these tools in their coaching practice. Our facilitator will guide the discussion for the first half and leave plenty of time for participants to ask questions.

 Jamie Davidoff, Spark Success, has been a Leadership Coach and Systems-Based Organizational Culture Consultant for 18 years, following 12 years as VP of a commercial real estate development and management organization and 5 years with IBM. One of Jamie’s core values is continuous applied learning to support her and her clients’ continued growth – for example, training has led to her becoming a Certified Dare to LeadTM Facilitator and Certified Barrett Values Centre Consultant.  A common thread through her BCom, MA Leadership, and coach training has been that of Values:  living in integrity with values, leading from values, and creating team and organizational culture using the Spark Success 3-point approach of appreciative inquiry, systems thinking, and values alignment.  She primarily works with leaders of leaders and HR leaders who want to increase their confidence, influence and impact.  In addition, Jamie has been an active volunteer throughout her career, currently as a co-lead of the ICF Leadership Perspectives Community of Practice.

Brian is a leadership and career coach with more than 14 years of experience in the consulting and energy industries. A former HR professional and self-professed "compensation geek", Brian transitioned into coaching in 2015 and has partnered with over 700 executives, professionals and students. Brian holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Finance from the University of Calgary, a Professional Coaching Certification through the International Coach Federation and is a Leadership Circle Practitioner. He currently offers coaching as part of the teams at Bright Wire Leadership, Cenera, and UCalgary Alumni.

 My name is Nicola McCrabbe, MSc, PCC, and I am a Professional Certified Coach, author and workshop facilitator that delivers impactful and evidence-based programs focused on well-being and leadership.

Having worked for many years in corporate software development and academia, I get the technical stuff but love the people stuff. I made the transition from a Computer Science junkie to a People junkie over 15 years ago. I believe that Better People make for Better Teams and Organizations. Presently I was working on a book on the topic of stress, overwhelm and burnout in the workplace. 

 My focus is two-fold. The first is helping you develop and grow, improving your performance or finding more meaning, enjoyment, or balance in your work. The second is assisting leaders in enabling their teams to succeed, including accountability, motivation, delegation, or feedback. I have a unique passion for working with people experiencing stress at work and managing others stressed or sensitive to feedback.

I have a Postgraduate Certificate of Business Administration. I am certified in the EQ- I 2.0, EQ – i 360 and Hardiness Resilience Assessments as well as Certified in Crucial Conversations.
