Call for Coaches
This fall, ICF Calgary is piloting a Coaching Lab at Mount Royal University: a day of free 30-minute coaching sessions for students, delivered by chapter coaches with a senior credentialed coach on site.
It is a DEIB initiative on both sides of the room. Coaching follows privilege, bought by employers for people already flagged as high potential, or privately at several hundred dollars an hour, and campus offers little between transactional career advising and clinical counselling. The Lab sits in that gap, through an asset-based rather than remedial model. On our side, client experience depends on networks, which is exactly what newer coaches and those who arrived here mid-career tend to lack. The Lab offers structured practice and a verifiable reference that don’t depend on who you already know.
One pilot day in November, date to be confirmed.
Open to coaches holding an ACC or above, or enrolled in an ICF-accredited program with coach-specific training substantially complete. Every coach who meets the criteria is warmly invited. MRU students come from every background, and a coach group reflecting that range is part of what will make the day work.
