Our Chapter This Month
Our new Board met for the first time this week, fueled by a commitment to help you get the most out of your ICF membership.
This year, we intend to continue our mission – advancing the profession of coaching in Calgary – by aligning our Chapter’s activities with the ICF Global’s 2026-2029 Strategic Plan.
On our Board agenda this month?
· We endorsed three new DEIB initiatives to support our members in building their cultural competency. The initiatives include a regular DEIB feature in our newsletter that we’ll start next month, a DEIB event that we’ll co-host with another chapter, and a DEIB Coaching Lab to help new coaches experience diversity in coaching.
· We’ve green-lit three membership surveys: a welcome survey to help us get to know new members, an engagement survey to give us a pulse check on current member experience, and an exit survey, so we can learn why people choose not to renew.
· We gave the thumbs up to expanding our social media reach through Instagram! Most Chapters internationally use Instagram as part of their social media program.
· We spoke about Board and committee recruitment. We continue to recruit for a Treasurer and are now recruiting for a Secretary as well, as our past Secretary has moved countries. We also appointed an acting Treasurer and Secretary from within our current Directors while we continue the recruitment process.
In the fall, our Board will be coming together for our one of two annual face-to-face gatherings to work on our local three-year strategic plan. We have a mandate from our members to bring down our reserve budget and expect that new investment in you will be part of our plan. You can also look forward to new credentialing supports as our community prepares for the changes to the ICF credentials.
What else matters to you? I’d love to hear your ideas for the next three years at peggy.mann@icfcalgarychapter.com.
